While travelling towards an electric light bulb, a moth is granted human consciousness. Suddenly capable of complex thought, the moth stops dead in his tracks and watches in horror as one of his kin turns to cinders in the light. The moth is deeply perplexed by the situation: so begins his quest to bring civility to the moth species by indulging himself in human behaviour. However, this quest proves to be his eventual downfall.

Engulfed In Flames is a contemporary take on the apologue. The experimental prose offers a glimpse into the conditions of human experience (told through the eyes of a moth), revealing that humans are the cause of their own unhappiness.
